Further Learning Group was established in 2004 with the aim of providing quality distance learning courses that would enable students to acquire the skills they needed to change their careers.
Over the last decade Further Learning has grown to encompass a number of international academies offering a variety of fully accredited classroom-based and home-study courses to students around the world.
The Company is headquartered in Dublin Ireland and is currently looking to grow our operations in Porto.
Role overview:
The Content Editor will be responsible for producing a broad range of written content for Further Learning Group, including course materials, video tutorial scripts and presentation slide decks.
Reporting to the Content Manager, the role will involve generating and editing written content that adheres to brand guidelines across each of our course offerings and ensuring that the tone and language used appeals to our target market. The outputs from this role will provide consistency to our students and strengthen our brand positioning across all online and offline touch points.
The ideal candidate will the vision and ability to create rich educational content. They would have a keen eye for detail, exacting working standards and a proactive approach to content creation. A good understanding of MS Office, Google Drive services and familiarity with web- based systems such as CMS is essential. Experience using content creation tools such as Photoshop and Premiere is not essential but would be an advantage to have. The successful candidate must also be a good communicator, be self-motivated to deliver results for our growing organization, and possess excellent written and oral English.
Primary responsibilities will include:
• Development and ownership of written content and management of timelines.
• Liaise with all internal teams to create written content that supports the editorial plan and student cycle.
• Development of slide decks, handbooks, course materials, video scripts and other assets to support internal teams and students.
• Liaise with Subject Matter Expert (SMEs), Programme Leaders and Academic team to ensure all course content is reviewed and up to date.
• Assist the Content Manager in identifying areas for improvement in course content, including course material and supporting videos.
• Liaise with the QA team to ensure content meets required standards as set out by accrediting bodies.
• Work with in-house Creative Team to develop and maintain content library.
• Localisation of content for different regions.
• Regularly review content to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Any other ad hoc duties as an when required.

Experience and skills required:
• Excellent written and research skills to an academic level (Degree, or above). 1-2 years' experience in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Ability to work on and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in developing and deploying house-styles for content and assets.
• Excellent proofreading ability.
• Excellent written and oral English is essential.
• Proficient in use of MS Office suite, Google Drive services web-based systems, such as CMS, is essential.
